Who We Are
Friendship Baptist is located in Maryville, TN. Founded in 1966, our church combines old and new tradition. We believe our key purpose is to further the Gospel, and strive to do that with everything we do through the church. A congregation of around 150 regularly attends, making this the perfect size to join right in.
Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
What We Believe
There is a true, and living God, Who created us, and sustains us as revealed in the Bible. We believe Adam and Eve walked in perfect harmony with God, but sinned when tempted by Satan, causing a separation between God and mankind. God gave us the Ten Commandments to show us our need for a Savior. Jesus, the Son of the Living God, came and shed his blood to restore us into a relationship with the Father. Once we are saved, we receive the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, which leads us on to His Glory.
A Brief History of Our Church
Friendship Baptist Church was established June 10, 1966 for the purpose of providing regular opportunities for public worship; to sustain the ordinances, doctrines, and ethics set forth in the New Testament for the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ; to nurture its members through a program of Christian Education; to channel its offerings to the support of the objects of the Redeemer's Kingdom; and to preach and propagate among all people the gospel of the Revelation of God through
Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
